Contact your insurer early. Ask what it needs and what requires approval. Tell us about any existing claim instructions.
We explain findings, recommended work and any limits. Confirm authority and payment arrangements before work starts.
Retain reports and communications. If the condition or scope changes, the next work and approvals need to be discussed.

A few useful details can reduce repeated questions and keep the restoration conversation focused.
If safe, photograph the damage before cleanup. Keep your claim reference, insurer’s instructions and receipts. Ask your insurer before authorising building work, including emergency repairs.
Tell the owner or managing agent about the damage. Identify the property contact and who can authorise access and work; ownership and insurance responsibilities may differ.
Send the claim reference, site contact, assessment brief and reporting needs. Confirm the authorised scope, information-sharing permissions and the person responsible for approvals.
