Choosing a restoration company? Here are five questions to ask.

One. Are your technicians IICRC certified?

Two. Do you measure and record moisture, so you know when it's dry?

Three. Will I get photos and a report I can give my insurer?

Four. Will I have one main contact who keeps me updated?

Five. Are you local, and can you respond day or night?

Ask Reztor about our qualifications, reporting and availability for your property.

Reztor. One call. A clear path forward.

Ask about the people and the work

Ask which qualifications are relevant to the job and who holds them. A company certification and an individual technician’s qualification are different. Request current details and the scope that applies rather than assuming every team member holds the same credentials.

For water damage, ask how the company identifies affected materials, measures moisture and records progress. A clear explanation should distinguish removing visible water from checking concealed moisture and meeting an appropriate drying goal.

Understand the records you will receive

Discuss photographs, readings and reports before work begins. Ask what is included in the agreed scope, who receives updates and what the insurer may still need. Restoration documentation supports assessment; it does not guarantee policy coverage, approval or payment.

Ask who your main contact will be and how to raise an urgent concern. For a managed property, clarify tenant access, owner instructions and the parties authorised to approve work or receive information.

Confirm availability for your location

Explain the incident, the property location and whether damage is continuing. Ask what response is available and what can safely happen before attendance. A day-and-night contact service does not mean a guaranteed arrival time or a local office in every suburb.

For a fire, flood or sewage incident, access restrictions and specialist hazards come first. Appropriate authorities and qualified trades may need to complete checks before restoration work can proceed.

Put the questions to Reztor

Ask us about the qualifications, reporting and availability relevant to your property. We can discuss the situation, the proposed restoration scope and the next decision without asking you to diagnose the damage yourself.
